Last Thursday, the North American Bitcoin Conference in Miami got a surprise visit when Kevin Connolly, the actor from the HBO series “Entourage,” announced a new TV show called “Cryptos” is under development. He hopes the new show will help the public better understand the innovative cryptocurrency ecosystem. The crypto community is pretty hyped up about the show and most claim that they have been long time fans of Kevin Connolly.
The “cryptos” TV Show
The show will be called “Cryptos.” The story follows a young startup trying to launch a crypto-fueled entertainment platform. Also, the series will feature Kevin Connolly, who has agreed to direct the show’s episodes.
The co-founders of the Academy School of Blockchain, Jason King as well as Erik Sords, are co-producing the series. The King is popular for helping start the Florida-based homeless shelter Sean’s Outpost in Pensacola, that’s an initiative powered by cryptocurrency donations.
The series is being produced by American Cinema International and it is currently in pre-production at the moment. Jason King came on board about six months ago after reading the pilot and helped develop the story architecture for the first season — The filming will begin in May of this year in 2019.
In the meantime, Erik Sords is in the midst of developing a decentralized global studio known as Dionysia in LA. The television show reflects how hard it is to finance movies, while forcing the group of friends to fund a project using digital currencies for creating a P2P film studio, much like the Dionysia concept.
Erik believes that people are scared to conceptualize cryptocurrencies because of a lack of understanding. Erik also mentioned that he is still learning more about cryptocurrency and this show will help him learn along the way.
Both Swords and King wants to bring cryptocurrencies to the mainstream for the better of cryptocurrency and as wants to be the filmmaker interested in telling cool stories and exploring cool characters — For them, it’s about relationships and friendships — That’s what people tune in to see.
We will keep our readers updated as soon as a preview is out.
