Elon Musk And Vitalik Bashes Twitter For Their Scambots

For the first time ever, Elon Musk made a tweet on his Twitter account about Ethereum. Elon Musk took to Twitter to discuss how impressed he is by Twitter’s notorious Ethereum scam bots.

What are Ethereum scam bots?

Scammers create profiles that look nearly identical to leading figures in the world of tech and cryptocurrency.

The moment the legitimate and verified user sends out a tweet, the bots immediately comment on the Tweet, pretending that same person is giving away cryptocurrency.

Usually these bots will request people to send a small amount of Ether to a crypto address and promise to send a larger amount in return, but of course this is a “scam” so people never get their money back.

The reason why this is working for these scammers is because they believe that these are the real accounts of the influencers, but of course that isn’t the case.

Vitalik responses instantly

Vitalik being a huge leading figure in the Ethereum community responded to Musk instantly on Twitter.

In the tweet, Vitalik also tagged the founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey in the conversation. Vitalik also requested that someone from the ETH community create a layer 2 scam filtering solution.

Even if someone was willing to put one together, we won’t know if Twitter would be willing to implement it.
