Cointext has recently announced that it’s Bitcoin Cash wallet service has successfully launched in both Ukraine and Italy. With this Cointext has a total of 35 countries globally connected and the wallet will be capable of working with just about any smartphone and basic feature phones.
Cointext.io is cryptocurrency wallet that allows users with the proper means to send Bitcoin Cash (BCH) through the text messages. The wallet allows any text-enabled mobile phone the capability to send and receive BCH without an internet connection. The company continued to include supported countries on its list over the past couple of months, and as of recently, included Ukraine and Italy, making a total of 35 countries connected to Cointext.
Due to the app not requiring any sort of registration and all it takes to utilize the application is a valid text command, anyone from the supported 35 countries can send Bitcoin cash through SMS. After the success of Ukraine and Italy’s services launching, founder and CTO of Cointext, Vin Armani, share some pictures of people in Ukraine sending BCH through text on basic feature phones.
Armani had this to say,
“Cointext allows anyone with a cellular signal to access cryptocurrency — This includes all brands of smartphones and about two billion people with basic feature phones,”
Ukraine is experiencing political instability and Italy is facing a sovereign debt crisis. Cryptocurrency provides residents with a way to opt out, and Cointext provides them with the easiest tool to begin using cryptocurrency.
Referencing the Cointext website will allow users in the supported countries to locate their access number to utilize the service. In order for them to gain a wallet, users must simply text the word “receive” to access the number to gain a fresh BCH address. Cointext utilizes a variety of other text commands to send funds to another address, and other commands to read the wallet’s balance.
BCH proponents like applications allows people to have a way to interact with Bitcoin Cash by simply utilizing text-enabled phones. This a great concept Cointext came up with due to accessibility given to the 1.7 billion unbanked people worldwide. Currently, Cointext has a presence in regions throughout, Europe, South American and U.S.
